~ About Me ~

"The Telling of the Bees" is a traditional English custom in which bees would be told of important events in their keeper's lives such as births, deaths, marriages or departures and returns in the household. The hives would be elaborately decorated to commemorate the nature of each of these unique events. My online lifestyle journal also celebrates the spirit of this enchanting custom and the wisdom inherent in the wheel of the year. I know how sweetly our lives can be enriched when seasons set the pace and milestones are marked intentionally.

Householding for the past two decades has been a rich exploration into gardening, the culinary arts, family dynamics, home styling and intentional celebration. Here I share with my readers the best of what I've learned along the way. And as a 'learner for life' readers are also treated to an insiders view of my ongoing explorations.

Twenty years after moving out of my childhood home with a few boxes and my suitcase I returned with a moving truck full of the life I had made with my own family. Carrying on the traditions of family past, present and future inside of these familiar walls is an honor and my greatest joy. I live and work in beautiful Big Sky Country, Montana, USA.

Professionally trained as both an artist and a designer, I have enjoyed an extensive career in the creative arts. As a ceramicist I work in two distinct capacities. Creating pop-surrealist sculptural work satisfies my artistic leanings while designing elegant utilitarian wares for the home appeals to my inner crafts person. Please visit my artist portfolio to view my ceramic work.

I am the creative director and co-owner of the web development and online marketing firm, Pixel Lab. While editing and publishing a cookbook in 2012 I fell in love with food writing and have continued on the tradition here, writing about my own food philosophy and developing recipes with a seasonal approach.
